Humble beginnings are……. well… just that, humble. The only evolution I believe in is the evolution of ideas which is certainly where Mama Dee’s Kitchen’s origins are.
We wanted a side business, so we launched Mama Dee’s Kitchen brand of jams which we envisioned being placed in markets and shops all over Australia. Well, it never took off like that and so one day we decided to add a few doughnuts to the display of jams at a Wednesday morning market in Gympie. As they say… the rest is history.
Needless to say, our doughnuts became much more popular than the jams we made, and they certainly launched our name into the public view. So many people were pushing us to open a café and sell them each week. We did, and on December 20, 2016 we opened at 29 Mary Street offering a full range of products including sandwiches, smoothies, and of course… doughnuts.
